The term simplified approaches refers to a number of simplifications to the existing national and global protocols for the treatment of child wasting. These simplifications are designed to improve effectiveness, quality, coverage and reduce the costs of caring for children with uncomplicated wasting. Further information on these approaches, including evidence summaries and FAQs can be found here.
This learning event, organised by the Global Working Group on Simplified Approaches and hosted by UNICEF, aims to build the capacity of implementers through a series of dedicated learning sessions. The objective is to support the implementation and scale-up of simplified approaches through building capacity of national level implementers. It is directed to all field level practitioners and nutrition managers who have a working knowledge or basic understanding of the simplified approaches.
This learning event will take place over four days from the 13-16 December at 08:00 – 9:30 AM EST each day:
By the end of this event, participants will be able to successfully identify the core components of simplified approaches and have a greater understanding on how to train, monitor and advocate for the implementation of these approaches.
