Globally, malnutrition remains the leading cause of death for children under five. Malnutrition kills more children than malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS combined. The global COVID-19 crisis threatens to roll back decades of progress, due to pandemic-related disruptions to health and food systems. This session will explore the smart opportunities for UK leadership to tackle global hunger and malnutrition, the role of the private sector in driving a sustainable recovery, and the importance of addressing these issues to ‘Global Britain’, across diplomacy, defence, development and trade.
