Lesly Weber McNitt joined Eleanor Crook Foundation as Senior Director of U.S. Advocacy and Communications in May 2023. Lesly came to ECF from the House Agriculture Committee Democratic staff, where she served as Senior Professional Staff working on a broad policy portfolio including global food security and trade. Lesly has held a variety of advocacy roles including Director of Public Policy, Trade and Biotechnology for the National Corn Growers Association and Director of Government Relations and Program Development for the Farm Journal Foundation. She served as a USDA political appointee in the Obama-Biden Administration, as Chief of Staff for the Farm and Foreign Agricultural Service Mission Area and the Farm Service Agency. Lesly hails from Pennsylvania and is a graduate of The George Washington University for both her B.A. and Masters of Professional Studies degrees. Lesly lives in Washington, DC with her husband and daughter.
