Benjamin des Gachons

Senior Director of Advocacy for Europe, Middle East, and Asia

Benjamin des Gachons joined the Eleanor Crook Foundation as Senior Director of Europe, Middle East, and Asia Advocacy in June 2024. In his role, Benjamin is responsible for developing and executing ECF’s advocacy strategies and grant portfolios in key advocacy countries in Europe, Middle East and Asia. Benjamin has worked in advocacy and campaigning for close to 20 years, helping various organizations establish global presence and drive impactful change. Prior to joining ECF, Benjamin served as the Senior Director for Global Campaigns at anti-poverty organization The ONE Campaign, leading multi-country advocacy campaigns on global health, education, gender, climate and development finance. Earlier in his career, Benjamin was the Country Director for France at the global petition platform Change.org, and helped to jump start and oversee the European presence of Avaaz, the global campaigning movement. With international development organization ActionAid, Benjamin led programmatic work in West Africa and India on agriculture, food and education. Benjamin holds two Masters in International Relations, Development and International Cooperation from the Paris Sorbonne University.
