Amit Paley is President, Global Advocacy & Philanthropy at the Eleanor Crook Foundation, where he contributes strategic expertise and leadership to the foundation's efforts to invest in a world where no child dies of malnutrition. With a multidisciplinary background spanning nonprofit leadership, journalism, and strategy consulting, Amit has built a career dedicated to tackling some of the world’s most urgent social challenges.

Before joining the Eleanor Crook Foundation, Amit led the Movement Against Malnutrition, an ambitious initiative focused on ending childhood hunger. He also served as Entrepreneur in Residence at the International Rescue Committee, supporting innovative solutions in humanitarian response. Previously, Amit was the CEO and Executive Director of The Trevor Project—the world’s largest mental health and suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ young people. Under his leadership, the organization scaled its impact significantly and pioneered AI-driven tools that earned recognition as one of TIME magazine’s 100 Best Inventions.

Earlier in his career, Amit was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, advising top-tier corporations, public agencies, and mission-driven nonprofits, with a focus on healthcare and social impact. He began his professional journey as a reporter for The Washington Post, where he covered finance and served as a foreign correspondent in Iraq. His work there earned critical acclaim, including a Pulitzer Prize nomination.

Amit’s insights and leadership have been featured across major media platforms, including The New York Times, USA Today, CNN, NPR, and all major broadcast networks. He has also shared his expertise in academic and advisory settings, teaching as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York and serving on numerous national boards and committees, such as the Center for Public Integrity, the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, and the Hebrew Free Loan Society.

He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and holds both an MBA from Columbia Business School and a master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School.
