Sudip Pokhrel serves as the Country Representative for the Eleanor Crook Foundation (ECF) in Nepal. He leads ECF’s strategy to support the Government of Nepal in reaching its nutrition goals, focusing on scaling multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS), strengthening acute malnutrition response, and ensuring effective implementation of priority programs. Sudip engages in in-country policy advocacy to ensure nutrition remains a high government priority, strengthens ECF’s partnerships with the government and other stakeholders, offers strategic
advice and support to senior government officials, and coordinates the Foundation’s overall activities in Nepal.
Sudip brings over twenty years of experience in health policy, systems reform, and strategic partnerships. Having worked with UN agencies, many international development organizations, and Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population as an embedded expert, he has a strong understanding of effective health collaborations. He has advised health ministers, briefed parliament members, and actively engaged political leaders to promote health and nutrition on the national agenda. His expertise includes developing national strategies, leading high-level policy discussions, and assisting Nepal’s health sector transition to federalism.

Sudip lives in Kathmandu and enjoys birdwatching, photography, and exploring Nepal’s diverse landscapes.
