Maria Borden is the Corporate Communications Officer with the Eleanor Crook Foundation. In this role, she leads a broad range of communications and media relations activities, and plays an integral role in developing publications. Before joining ECF, she spent several years with The Pew Charitable Trusts where she provided strategic communications counsel to the public safety performance project. With a team of research and policy experts, she worked with states to advance data-driven policies and practices to improve adult and juvenile justice systems. She brings ten years of experience in non-profit communications and publishing, having worked previously at the Asian Institute of Management, the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area, and Edipresse Group Asia. She earned a master’s degree in literature and the humanities at Marymount University, and a bachelor’s degree in communications arts from De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines.
